Our Coffee

We just love fresh roasted coffee! So we source high quality, specialty green beans from our ethically responsible supplier, then roast them in small batches, near Bunbury, in the beautiful South West of Western Australia. We roast in-house weekly to offer peak flavours and freshness to the home barista.

Our fresh roasted whole beans are then packed into our hand stamped kraft coffee bags, showing the roast date.  As coffee is a perishable product, it's best stored in the supplied one way valve resealable bag, until you're ready to grind for each brew. Fresh beans like up to a week to rest after roasting to develop their flavours and are best enjoyed within 5 weeks.

Our Coffee Journey

We are husband and wife, best mates and coffee lovers. We savour one of the simple pleasures in our daily life, making time at home to be our own barista, so we can enjoy delicious coffees.

We used to buy mainstream whole beans and grind them straight before brewing, then in recent years we came across our local, fresh coffee roaster. We were then educated in the amazing flavour and crema difference that fresh roasted, specialty coffee beans bring to your cup. We were converted to the fresh side...

To mix things up a little and re-energise, we went off the leash, travelling in our caravan. Being off grid, sadly we couldn't take our trusty espresso machine, and we missed fresh roasted beans. On returning home from our travels, our local roaster was moving to Perth. Oh no! But the good part is, the opportunity came up, and we purchased their little magic box of a roaster. We are enjoying learning about, creating, and tasting our fresh product, and would now like to share it with you. So we became, Off the Leash Coffee Roasters.
